about
This song was written on behalf of Alex in intercession for the Alex of yesterday, today, and tomorrow in 04/2013.
Not much was done to this song. This song was recorded in one take. It has no added reverb, or effects. While Alex and I (Wesley) were talking about how we wanted to capture this song, we decided we wanted to capture all the nuances of the bedroom and create a very raw, organic feel. There was no click track to which I followed for tempo, in fact, there was even a conflict in the house during the recording during the louder parts. We decided to keep that part and not rerecord to capture even the brokenness that surrounded the room.
Listen and enjoy! Alex mentioned that when we were recording this song he was being ministered to and felt blessed as he listened. If you feel blessed or ministered to whilst listening, please support Alex as he is currently at YWAM, a global missions organization in Kansas City for a 6 month discipleship training school. If you would like more information on this, here is his support letter below:
Lord I'm bad with decisions, my heart goes to and fro
I'm weak, tired, broken, you see
That even in my weakness, I hold onto You, Your grace is sufficient for me
I’m prone to stumble, I fall over my feet
How can I ever go on?
But Your path of love, it washes over me, I see Your eyes of love
Your eyes of fire
Your eyes of fire
Your eyes of fire
Your eyes of fire on me
Like Peter, Cephas, I deny you countless times
The rooster crows and crows
But I’m redeemed, you trust me with your sheep, I will lead as I follow
Like Gideon, I doubt, though with my eyes I see
The glory of the Lord
But You have much hope, even in my squandering, I’m a man of valor
You keep me desperate, you keep me low
You don't let me breathe until in You, I breathe, I move, I flow
You keep me guessing, yet You hold me close
You won’t let me stray, You’ll see me through, because I know
For Your eyes are on the sparrow, I'm never out of sight
Your eyes of fire are on me
You are my friend, my joy, my peace
The sovereign Lord of all
Father God, Abba
I am, Your child
